AION 2 explains Atreia, gameplay and global monetization

NC has released a new video addressed to global players Aion 2, bringing together in less than ten minutes a presentation of the world of Atreia, the main activities and, finally, the monetization model prepared for the West.

The official video is in English and has English subtitles.Until the publication of this article, we did not find an official version duplicated or manually subtitled in Portuguese.

Atreia returns completely transformed

Aion 2 occurs approximately 200 years after the events of the first gameand .

Eight classes are available.

AION 2 will preserve eight classes known to the players of the franchise:

Temple to Temple;
The murderer;
The Ranger;
The Sorcerer;
The Spiritmaster;
The Cleric;
The singer.

Each has its own function, but the system will allow you to adjust combat skills and styles during progress.

The NC also highlights a more direct and responsive fight, with active movement, skill chaining and greater importance for player execution.

Creation of characters will remain one of the highlights.

Personalization of characters appears with a lot of space in the video.

The editor will allow you to change details of the face, hair, body and other visual features. The proposal is to maintain the freedom of creation that helped the first AION to become known among fans of MMORPG.

In addition to the initial appearance, clothes, wings and other cosmetic elements can be used to change the appearance of the character.

More than 200 buildings are planned.

The amount of PvE content presented by NC attracts attention.

Aion 2 will have more than 200 squaresDivided into different formats:

the individual experiences;
Groups of four players;

Atreia will have pets formed by the souls of monsters

These pets will be able to accompany the player and are part of the AION 2 collection and progression systems.

NC has not yet fully detailed what advantages each companion will offer in the global version, so it is not possible to say that they will all be just cosmetics.

They will invade enemy territories.

During specific periods, players will be able to cross cracks and enter the territory of the opponent faction.

This will create opportunities for:

As the invasions will have a limited duration, groups will need to enter, meet their goals, and leave before the passage is closed.

The Abyss will continue to be the center of the large-scale PvP

The Abyss returns as a region dedicated to the main clashes between players.

Among the activities mentioned are major battles for the possession of artifacts. Factions will need to attack, defend and control targets scattered across the map.

The game will also feature smaller battles, but large-scale warfare remains one of the main promises of AION 2.

How will global monetization of AION 2 work?

This was the most anticipated part of the video.

AION 2 will be free to play at the global release, however, the game will have three monetization pillars:

the cosmetic store;
pass from battle.
Optional monthly subscription.

NC claims the Western model will be different from the one initially used in Korea and other Asian markets.

The store will have clothes, wings and cosmetic pets

According to the presentation, these products will be cosmetic and will not grant attributes or direct advantages during combat.

AION 2 will feature a system similar to the passes found in other continuous service games.

There will be:

a free course;
A paid premium trail.

The video states that the pass will offer additional items and cosmetic rewards. NC has not yet revealed the price of the premium version nor has it presented the full list of rewards.

Monthly subscription will be optional and will cost $15

The global version will have only one optional subscription, at the value of $15 per monthand .

According to NC America, the subscription will expand the player’s participation in the main systems of the game and unlock full access to the player-controlled economy.

This description suggests that important trading features, such as buying and selling between users, may be limited to unsubscribed accounts.

The company has not yet explained in detail:

which parts of the economy will be blocked;
What are the limits for free players?
There will be progressive bonuses.
How the value will be converted in Brazil
There is a regional price.

Therefore, it is still too early to say to what extent the subscription will actually be dispensable for those who intend to play competitively.

Will AION 2 be pay to win?

Based on current information, it is not yet possible to give a definitive answer.

NC claims that the products in the store will be cosmetic and will not deliver attributes.This represents a more friendly proposal than some models previously used by the company.

On the other hand, the subscription will be tied to the economy between players, while the paid pass will deliver additional rewards.

The real difference between a free account and a subscriber can only be assessed when the company publishes all the benefits and limitations.

The best reading at this time is simple: the model looks less aggressive than the original Asian format, but there are still important points that need to be clarified.
